The Physiotherapy Act provides that the Board will consist of 9 members appointed by the Governor, of whom 5 must physiotherapists (4 are chosen at an election and 1 is selected from a panel of 3 physiotherapists nominated by the Council of the University of South Australia.) 1 member must be a legal practitioner and 1 must be a medical practitioner. 2 persons are nominated by the Minister who are not eligible for appointment under the previous provision.

The term of membership of the Board is three years for elected members and up to three years for appointed members.
Meetings of the Board The Board meets formally on monthly basis from February to December, usually the second Monday. Meetings of the Board are attended by the Registrar.
